Food For A Seat

In an effort to help the local food pantries stock up their shelves, admission to the JV/Varsity boys and girls basketball games vs Cambridge this Friday can be gained by donating canned goods. Simply bring one canned item for a student admission or two items for an adult admission.  Items collected will be donated to each village’s local food pantry.  The girls games are at Cambridge, and the boys games are in Hoosick Falls.

Panthers Open Wrestling Season With Win

The Hoosick Falls wrestling team began the 2010-2011 season with an easy 58-19 win over WASAREN League foe Schuylerville giving new Head Coach Landon Nelson his first win. Nelson had been the Modified Coach until Chris Marsh decided to retire from coaching after last season.

Panther Bowlers Win Two More

On Monday the Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Hoosic Valley at Hilltop Lanes by the score of 4 to 0. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 8-0 and Hoosic Valley is 3-9. HFCS Bowling Team Season Preview 2010-2011

The Hoosick Falls bowling team has both experienced and upcoming young bowlers that are ready to defend their Adirondack League title. There are five starters back from last year’s championship team – senior Chris Pelletier, Co-Captain, juniors Cody LaFlamme, Joe Wolfrum and Mitch Andrew and sophomore Bryan Callahan.

Panther Bowlers Win First Match

The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Stillwater by the score of 4-0 in their first match of the season. The Panthers outscored Stillwater by a total pin count of 3,674 to 2,690.

Next HFCS PTA Meeting

The next business meeting of the HFCS PTA will take place on Wednesday, December 15, in the Elementary School Library beginning at 6:30 pm.
As always, members and non-members are encouraged to join meetings to find out what the PTA is doing for our children and to share ideas for special programs and events to benefit the children and families of our school district.

HFCS Gets Its Report Card

At the Hoosick Falls School Board November meeting District Superintendent Ken Facin discussed the 2009-2010 School Report Card for the District.
The District as a whole is in good standing, but there were two areas of concern, English test results for students with disabilities in elementary and middle school and the graduation rate. In all areas except these two the District exceeded the performance objectives by large margins.

HFCS Drama Club Presentations Are A Hit

Giggles, titters and laughs were continuous during this past weekend’s performances by the HFCS Drama Club. It took 17 performers to carry off the one act “Cabfare for the Common Man,” with a simple set, a fast pace and clever lines. Two visible and two invisible performers made for the laughable “Presentation: Understanding a Satire.” Then came The Importance of Being Earnest.

Red Storm Rains Down On Panthers’ State Title Quest

A 32-yard field goal in overtime by Saranac Lake’s Forrest Morgan sealed the win in last Saturday’s Class C Regional Final against Class C Section II Super Bowl Champs Hoosick Falls Panthers.
The Panthers held a solid lead throughout most of the game with scores by quarterback Mike Brewster and receiver Quinn Rasmus before halftime.
