Basket Bingo At HFCS

The Hoosick Falls Central School Class of 2010 will be hosting Basket Bingo on March 11. Doors open at 6 pm with games starting at 7 pm. Admission is $10 with extra cards available for purchase. A.D.A.P.T. Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department is sponsoring its annual A.D.A.P.T. Dance on Friday, March 5, at the Fire Station from 7 to 10:30 pm. This dance raises funds for the A.D.A.P.T. Committee, which sponsors the after prom event. Students ages 9 to 15 are invited to attend the dance.

HFCS Pre-Licensing Course

The NYS 5 hour pre-licensing course needed for a NYS driver’s license is being offered on Thursday, March 11, at Hoosick Falls Central School. Registration takes place that evening at 4:30 pm in the High School office. The cost is $35, and a valid learner’s permit is needed. Class begins promptly at 5 pm, following registration.  Please call Terri Burdick at 518-686-9492×1034 for further information.

The Hoosick Falls Performing Arts Booster Club is presenting a New York, New York Dinner Cabaret on Saturday, March 6. Enjoy great entertainment and a delicious dinner which includes spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, bread/roll, coffee/soda, and dessert. HFCS May Be Forced To Lay Off Teachers

Business Manager Pamela Hatfield presented a preliminary budget document which detailed a very challenging budget season ahead.  Superintendent Ken Facin introduced her presentation by telling the Board that the Governor’s budget proposes cutting State aid to the Hoosick Falls District by over 10%, which would reduce the District’s revenue by $1.2 million. He said with a cut like that, if the District just went forward with a “status quo” budget leaving the program the same as it was last year, they would end up with 21% tax levy increase. Burns And Fogarty Place At Section II Championships

The Hoosick Falls wrestling team took five wrestlers to the Section II Championships this past weekend, coming home with two place finishers. Jordan Robichaud, David Couch, Jacob Pearson, Brad Burns and Matt Fogarty traveled to the Glens Falls Civic Center to represent the Panthers.
