Panther Girls Hoop Team Is Competitive In Loss To Cambridge

Well, the Hoosick Falls Central School girls basketball team didn’t get a win last Friday night, January 22, when they hosted Cambridge Central School in a WASAREN League game, but they did give a very good accounting of themselves in their 57-43 loss. Hoosick Falls Elementary School Registration For September 2010 Kindergarten Class

Hoosick Falls Elementary School has started the process of creating a registry/mailing list of new students for the September 2010 kindergarten class. If you have a child who will be five years old by December 1, 2010, please call the Elementary School office as soon as possible at 686-9492 to ensure your child’s name is placed on our mailing list.  Registration packets will be mailed out beginning February 12. Kindergarten screening will occur on Tuesday, May 18, and Wednesday, May 19.

Hoosick Falls Jr./Sr. High School Midterm & Regents/RCT Exam Schedule

Note
To allow sufficient time for giving directions and distributing examination materials, students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the time specified for starting each Regents/RCT examination.

College Prep Night At HFCS

On Thursday, February 4, at 6 pm the Hoosick Falls Jr./Sr. High School Counseling Center will host a Course Selection/College Prep Night in the high school cafeteria and gymnasium. There will be representatives from each high school department to discuss their courses.
Several college representatives will be on hand to discuss the admissions process, financial aid and HEOP/EOP opportunities. If you have any questions, please contact the Counseling Center at 686-7321 ext.1510.  Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Panther Boys Hoop Team Beats Granville

Mike Lilac Jr.’s Hoosick Falls Central School Panther boys basketball team finished the first half of the rugged WASAREN League season undefeated last Friday night, January 15, when they beat down one of its challengers, home standing Granville Central School, by a 59-38 margin. HFCS, now 7-0 in league action and 9-1, overall, gave the Golden Horde their first league loss. The Panthers hit five three-point shots on offense, and their stingy defense held one of the Horde’s leading scorers scoreless.

Panther Boys Beaten At Buzzer

Well, what every Hoosick Falls basketball fan was hoping wouldn’t happen did happen last Tuesday night, January 19. Visiting Hoosic Valley Central School in bounded the basketball after a timeout, down by a 47-45 margin to Mike Lilac Jr.’s Hoosick Falls Central School Panther five, drove the length of the court and hit a game winning trey as the fourth quarter horn sounded to walk out of the River Road gymnasium with a hard earned 48-47 WASAREN League victory. Tough Shooting Night Upends Panther Girls Hoop Team

One play might sum up last Friday night’s, January 15, girls WASAREN League game between home standing Hoosick Falls Central School and the visiting Granville Golden Horde. With 3:20 left in the third quarter, a Horde player drove to the rim and put up a shot which bounced off the top of the backboard and fell through the net. The hoop was disallowed, but that was the kind of help the Granville players seemed to have all night as they cruised to a 47-31 victory. Panther Bowling Round Up

On Thursday, January 14, the Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Stillwater by the score of 4-0. Hoosick Falls had a match total pin count of 3,737 to Stillwater’s 3,166. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 41-7, and Stillwater is 26-22. [Read more…] about Panther Bowling Round Up
