Panther Softball Team Beats Granville On Three-Hitter

Last Monday afternoon, May 4, Charlie Weeden’s Hoosick Falls Central School Panther softball team had freshman right hand pitcher Rachel Quackenbush on the hill. The Queen was throwing mostly smoke all game as the Panthers used her three-hitter to get by a very competitive Granville Golden Horde nine by a 3-1 margin. HFCS Bowling Awards And Banquet

After several postponements, the HFCS Bowling Team held its brunch banquet at Barbecue Recreation Saturday morning, April 25. One of those date changes was so Coach Bob Lang could accompany tenth grader Joey Wolfrum to the State tournament where Joey bowled on the Section II team.

Nunsense At HFCS

The Little Sisters of Hoboken once again take to the Hoosick Falls Central School stage in a return engagement of the ever-popular musical comedy Nunsense. As previously, this show is presented by the Hoosick Falls Teachers’ Association for the entertainment of the audience and the benefit of the HFTA Student Scholarship Fund.

HFCS Pre-Licensing Course

Hoosick Falls Central School will sponsor the 5-Hour Prelicensing Class needed to take the NYS Driver’s test on Thursday, May 7. Registration begins at 4:30 pm in the High School Office with the class following promptly at 5 pm. A valid learner’s permit and a $35 registration fee are required. Two Board Candidates And French N’est Pas At HFCS

Petitions for candidates running for the Hoosick Falls School Board were due this week. The District Clerk received two, so there will be two candidates on the ballot running for two open seats. Laurie Gormley is running for re-election, and Ryerson N. Mausert 3rd is running for election to the School Board as well. Greg Laurin, whose term is expiring, declined to run for another term.

Hoosick Falls bowling took center stage at the Rensselaer County Legislative session Tuesday night when Matt Brownell and the Hoosick Falls Central School bowling team appeared in the Chamber to receive copies of the resolutions passed last month that honored them for their achievements.
