New Lebanon High School Celebrates Memorial Day

For Memorial Day this year New Lebanon High School presented its first ever celebration on Friday for the military veterans from New Lebanon.
American Legion Post #1236 and the James E. Callahan Vietnam Veterans Chapter 65 Presented the Colors. The National Anthem was beautifully sung by student Juanita Eaton. Student Meredith Lukas explained the flags used for the ceremony. Student Kyle McHugh explained the history of Memorial Day before the New Lebanon School chorus performed “You Raise Me Up.”

New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School To Host A Memorial Day Assembly

On Friday, May 27, at 9 am, the New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School will be hosting its first Memorial Day Assembly to honor our servicemen and women and all who gave their lives in defense of our country.
All veterans and current members of any branch of the military are invited to join the American Legion Post #1236 of New Lebanon and the Berkshire Chapter 65 Vietnam Veterans of America in the high school gymnasium as our honored guests. Family and community members are also welcome and encouraged to attend the festivities in memory of our fallen heroes and in celebration of those who serve.

Rescheduled Basketball Games Between BCS And NLCS

The Boys Varsity basketball game between the Berlin Central School Mountaineers and the New Lebanon Tigers will be played at New Lebanon on Monday, February 14. The game will be at 6 pm.
The two schools’ Boys Modified basketball teams will play at New Lebanon on Tuesday, February 15. The game will start at 4:30 pm.

Tigers Hold Off Mountaineers For CHVL Win

The New Lebanon boys basketball team was able to hold off a resilient Berlin team en route to a 70-45 victory on Tuesday night. Despite the Mountaineers’ rough 0-9 start thus far, they showed great improvement from just two weeks ago in the Hoosick Falls Holiday Tournament. Unfortunately for Berlin, those improvements weren’t enough to knock off sharp shooting Mike Gavrity and the Tigers.

Tigers Boys Soccer Tops Berlin Under the Lights

Under the lights of the New Lebanon Central School soccer field, the Tigers boys varsity team hosted rival Berlin on Tuesday night for the second meeting of the teams this season. In the first meeting New Lebanon squeaked out a 1-0 win. The on and off again rain throughout the game added an extra element to the always exciting matchup.

Geneva Furlano Earns AP Scholar Award

Geneva Furlano of the New Lebanon Junior/Senior High School Class of 2010 has earned the AP Scholar Award in recognition of her exceptional achievement on AP exams. Furlano had a score of 5 on the three AP exams she took last school year – Calculus AB, English Language and Composition and Physics C- Mechanics.
