BCS Modified Soccer Team Ends Season

On October 25 the Berlin Central School Modified Girls Soccer Team played its final home game of the season. The team played its best game of the season facing an undefeated Loudonville Christian side  and BCS walked away winners! It was a great effort by all the players this season. HFCS Capital Project In The Works

Hoosick Falls School Superintendent Ken Facin spoke to the School Board about improvements to the school building embodied in the Capital Project which is now in the planning stages. The administration is working with the architectural firm Clark Patterson Lee on the project. The architects made a presentation to the Board at a special meeting at the end of September.  The Board asked Facin and the architects to prioritize the elements of the project so that it can be brought down to a manageable size.

Panthers Ground Blackbirds 69 – 14 In First Round Sectional Play

The Panther football team traveled Route 67 to Stillwater last Saturday evening to take on the Voorheesville Blackbirds. This was a first round Section II playoff game. The game began with the Panthers kicking off to the ‘Birds, which they fumbled on the return. Thirty seconds later Josh Brogue received a pass from Billy Pine and took it  seven yards into the end zone. This was the opening act of what turned out to be a tremendous offensive outburst by the Panthers.

Kids Raise $1,700 In Walk-A-Thon

HFCS PTA Fall Festival – Fun For All!

On Saturday, October 20, the HFCS PTA held its twelfth annual Fall Festival and is pleased to report it was a grand success. HFCS was bustling with over 400 attendees and bursting with spirit with vendors selling their wares, kids doing craft projects, young and young-at-heart dancing the “cake walk,” a ghoulishly fun Haunted Hall  and everyone enjoying baked goods and food provided by The Lions Club.

HFCS Field Hockey Moves On In Sectionals

The first game in Sectional play for Hoosick Falls Field Hockey was Monday evening, October 22, in Schuylerville, on artificial turf and under the lights. Number 2 seed HFCS played #7 seed Granville. It was the third time this season the two teams had met. Once again HF was the victor, this time with a 4-0 score.

Mountaineer Boys Soccer Clinches League Title

BCS Girls Varsity Volleyball Team Ends Season Strong With A Win

On Thursday October 18 the Berlin Central School Girls Varsity Volleyball team played its final home game of the season against Taconic High School. After the game they celebrated Senior Night by recognizing five graduating seniors –  #5 Kelsey O’Dell, #7 Sarah Bentley, #10 Taylor Cormier, #11 Whitney Woolley, #12 Melinda Williamson and #6 Brittany Sass of the JV team. HFCS Writers Decorate Their Notebooks

What do you get when you combine a Writer’s Workshop celebration with a writer’s notebook decoration party? You get a “Decebration Party!” The fourth, fifth and sixth grade teachers hosted their annual Decebration Party on September 12.  Students and parents turned out with their writer’s notebooks, pictures and other decorating supplies in hand. BCSD Drops Threat Of Board Member Removal

A request in the cover letter of a petition from residents of the Berlin School District to have three members of the School Board who continue to block a Capitol Project bond authorization removed by the other four members will not be acted on. The matter was left for the residents to deal with themselves come the next election.
