Hoosick Falls Girls Soccer Ends Season With Big Win

The varsity girls’ soccer team ended their league play with a bang with a 6-0 win over Granville. It was their last home game and the girls’ senior game. Hoosick Falls Boys Soccer Win Big

The Hoosick Falls Boys soccer team had a great outcome for their senior game beating Granville 9-0. Though the game was one-sided Granville kept up the pace without giving up. Berlin CSD Names Interim Superintendent

The Berlin Board of Education has named Dr. Brian Howard as the new Interim Superintendent of the Berlin Central School District. Dr. Howard, an experienced educator, had been the Superintendent for the Queensbury Union Free School District for six years when he retired in 2008. Prior to that, he was Superintendent for the Liberty School District for five years, the Assistant Superintendent for Chatham CSD for one year and Chatham’s High School Principal for nine years before. No Friday Night Football!

It was to be the last home game of the season – Senior Night; bonfire, fun, etc.
Unfortunately it was not to be. Late Sunday night Lake George emailed the school and forfeited the game. That leaves Hoosick Falls undefeated for the season with a 7-0 record, counting the forfeit.

HFCS Students Proud To Show Off School

On Thursday, October 7, there was an Open House at Hoosick Falls Central School. The turnout wasn’t large. Perhaps many parents had already visited the school through classroom open houses or perhaps many people have attended some of the varied school events having taken place in the recent past. Whatever, they missed a great opportunity to view the slide show in the auditorium of the work as it was being done and to hear the kids rave about their school. “Many of these students have been here throughout the renovations,” said Superintendent Ken Facin. “They have a keen perspective on what has been accomplished, and they are appreciative of the public’s support.”

Panthers Remain Unbeaten In Section II, Class C Football Action

Blue skies and vibrant foliage was the backdrop at John G. Boshart Field in Fonda-Fultonville on Saturday as the Braves came out of the locker room clearly ready to fight hard for a win against the Panthers during their homecoming game. However, the lion-hearted Panther defense proved too much for the Braves, as the Panthers added another tally to the win column with a 21-6 victory.
