Opening Day In The BCSD
by Kieron Kramer, Editor
As we have for many years the Eastwick Press attended the opening day of school at BCS to present another milestone in the life of our community. Our reporter went to Berlin Elementary on the first day that all BCS elementary students have gathered together at one location. However, no photograph or story will appear about the event because Michelle Colvin, Principal of the Berlin Elementary School, requested that we not release any photos or information without the School District’s authorization. We are honoring the District’s request at this time.
Colvin wrote in an email, “At a recent BOE meeting the Board requested that school and district news be sent to the papers in the form of Press Releases. Once I have reviewed the photo release information I’ll let you know which pictures are OK to use…”

The HFCS Football Season begins Friday, September 3, at 7 pm at home against Corinth. The new bleachers and press box are in place. There is a classy white fence trimming the field. The food bar, a fairly recent addition, is set to go. The only hang up may be the weather. It will be in the 80s until the sun goes down, and there is a possibility of rain. Fans will just have to wait and see.
