It was a tough start for the Berlin Girls softball team with a couple of lopsided losses, but Coach Art Schmich’s charges have been working hard, and it’s starting to show. Berlin posted its first win of the season with a 24 to 9 decision over Doane Stuart. Amanda Despart pitched the entire game for Berlin, striking out three. Dr. Stephen Young, Superintendent of the Berlin Central School District presented his “Superintendent’s Budget” at a “Round Table” meeting of the Berlin School Board. The Berlin Alumni are accepting applications for the Alumni Scholarship. Any Berlin Senior or graduate who has been accepted into a two or four year college may apply.
