Local Students Graduate With Hudson Valley Community College’s Class of 2015
Hudson Valley Community College held its 61st annual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at the college’s Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY. A total of 2,186 students earned associate degrees and certificates. Of those, 461 graduated with academic honors. Berlin Middle and High School FCCLA members have been busy developing their leadership skills and providing service to the greater Berlin community. Katie Mellett, a Junior at BCS, serves as State Vice President of Finance and was one of forty-five representatives from New York to the National Leadership Meeting July 4 to 9 in Washington DC. Berlin Central School District Registration Day
Registration for new students in kindergarten – 12th grade is held at the Berlin Middle High School Counseling Office, which is located at 17400 NY 22, Cherry Plain, NY 12040. A Registration Day for all students interested in registering is scheduled for August 19, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. Please call the District Registrar at 658-2515, ext. 1070 if you have any questions.
Student/Parent Handbook Night
Thursday, August 20 at 5 pm Hoosick Falls Jr/Sr High Principal Stacy Vadney will be hosting a public meeting to review the 2015-2016 Student/Parent Handbook.
The meeting will be held in the High School Auditorium. Please note: This is not the code of conduct night for athletes.

While trying to stay focused on their coursework, kids are constantly responding to texts, e-mails, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Pressure from high stakes tests, sports teams, extracurricular activities, and for some, work, add more stress. Young people face emotional and social issues every day, like peer pressure, temptations, bullying, and sometimes home issues. Students’ lives are cluttered and there are many distractions. Berlin Central Schools’ Inaugural “School Within A School” Class Graduates 100 Percent Of Students
The very first graduating class of Berlin’s “School within a School” program saw a 100-percent success rate with all 13 students receiving a high school diploma.
