Parent Toddler Classes At Mountain Road School

Mountain Road School’s Parent-Toddler classes begin again September 22, 2011. We welcome parents and caregivers with children aged 18 months to three years. The program has been expanded to ten weeks and will be held on Thursdays from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., September 22, October 6, 11, 20, 27, November 3, 10, 17, and December 1, 8 (no groups will be held on Rosh Hashanah, September 29th or Thanksgiving, November 24th). St. Mary’s 2011 Alumni Weekend Celebrates 120 Years Of Catholic Education

Linda McGuire Retiring From St. Mary’s Academy

Tears flowed freely at St. Mary’s Academy on Friday, June 17, when students, staff and parents honored third grade teacher Linda McGuire, who is retiring after 38 years. Some of the fifth grade students who led the morning prayer service recognizing their beloved teacher found it hard to read their essays without some meltdown. Derby Club Donates To SMA

On Thursday evening, May 10, at Ferrara’s Restaurant, members of the Derby Club presented St. Mary’s Academy staff members with a check for $500 for the SMA Roof Fund.  A drive to replace the school roof is underway. Estimated cost for the project is over $100,000.

The SMA Funtastik Fair

The St. Mary’s Academy Funtastik Fair is coming on Friday June 10, from 5 to 10 pm and Saturday, June 11, from noon to 10 pm. SMA is looking for vendors to make this years’ Fair better than ever! Beauticians, arts, crafts, jewelry, toys, home party representatives – call us if you are interested! Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate food vendors/concessions at this time.

SMA Auction Raises $30,000

A good-sized crowd filled the Saint Mary’s Academy gym Saturday evening, April 2, for the school’s annual auction. The bidding was wild in some instances, especially when it came to items made by students in the various SMA classes. In some instances a bidder walked away with a real bargain and in other cases the bidding went sky high! One hundred and twenty-five items were auctioned, ranging in value from $45 to $2,600. There were also several silent auction items that went for a pretty penny. The evening was a great success. There were plenty of delicious refreshments and SMA alumni socializing.

St. Mary’s Academy Announces Spring Open House

St. Mary’s Academy is hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 9.  Members of the public are invited to tour the Academy located at 4  Parsons Avenue, Hoosick Falls, from 10 am to 12 pm.
St. Mary’s Academy enrolls students from pre-kindergarten (3 years +) through eighth grade.
St. Mary’s enrichment opportunities include art, athletics, language, music, student government and Odyssey of the Mind.
