Albany-Tula Alliance Announces Student Essay Contest

High school students in the Capital Region will have an opportunity to win a trip to Russia for two weeks this summer through an essay contest sponsored by the Albany-Tula Alliance. Students aged 16 to 18 who wish to compete will be asked to write a 1,500 word essay identifying and discussing an issue that Presidents Medvedev and Obama can work on together that will improve the lives of both Russians and Americans in terms of knowledge, resources and trust. St. Mary’s Academy Fifth-Graders Celebrate NYS Test Results

St. Mary’s Academy fifth-graders are celebrating their New York State Social Studies Assessment results.
In November the test was given to all NYS fifth-graders.  All St. Mary’s fifth-graders passed the assessment. Sixty percent of students received a top score of 4, meaning they met the NYS Standards with Distinction.  Forty percent of students received a score of 3 meaning they met the NYS Standards.  Congratulations to St. Mary’s fifth grade middle school students for a job well done!

Superbowl® Sub Sale

St. Mary’s Academy will be holding a Superbowl® Sunday Sub Sale on February 7. All subs must be pre-ordered but will be made your way. Twelve inch subs with turkey, ham, roast beef, veggie or Italian mix are available with all the fixings for $7 each.  Subs will be available for pick up on Sunday, February 7, from 11 am to 1 pm at St. Mary’s. Call the school at 686-4314 for more information or to order your subs.

St. Mary’s Academy Volleyball Tournament

St. Mary’s Academy To Host A Roast Beef Dinner

On Friday, January 8, St. Mary’s Academy will be sponsoring a Roast Beef Dinner at the school at 4 Parsons Avenue in Hoosick Falls.  The cost of the dinner is $10 and includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dinner roll and dessert.  Meals are available to eat in or take out from 5 until 7 pm or while supplies last.

Sounds At St. Mary’s Academy Fund Raiser

Once again the fabulous sponsors, volunteers and performers at St. Mary’s Academy offered up a fantastic holiday show, complete with a large array of Silent Auction items for bidding. Many of the items were put together by the various classes in the school. They were a special enticement for many parents.
