Hoosick Falls Blanks Chatham 40-0 To Take Section II, Class C Title

The Hoosick Falls Central Panthers football team travelled down Route 67 to Stillwater High School to take on the Chatham Panthers last Friday night. The two unbeaten teams, both 9 – 0, met for the Section II – Class C Super Bowl. Even though it was a chilly night, a big crowd was on hand to watch these teams duke it out. Chatham players and fans alike were all pumped up to avenge the championship game losses of the past few years.
It didn’t take long for Chatham to realize that this avenging stuff was not going to happen.

Panther Girls Soccer Dominates Mechanicville; State Quarterfinals Next

The Lady Panthers dominated the Sectional Title game against Mechanicville Tuesday night scoring in 49 seconds and went on to win 6-0. Hoosick Falls will now face the winner of the Section VII/X regional playoff in the State quarterfinals on Saturday. The Panthers host the contest at Stillwater at 1:30 pm.

Panther Boys Soccer Wins First Regional Match In Overtime

HFCS was all a buzz Tuesday morning when the students and Bands lined the walkway from the High School lobby to the Elementary School end of the parking lot giving the Boys Soccer Team a hardy send off for their first Regional soccer match. The Panthers boarded the Section II bus headed to play the Section VII Champion, Canton Bears (8-4-4), at SUNY Canton.

Panther Boys Soccer Wins The Sectional Title In Double Overtime

The seventh-seeded Hoosick Falls Boys Varsity Soccer Team loaded the bus this past Saturday to make the trek to Colonie for the Section II Class C Title Match against fifth-seeded Maple Hill. Hill had won matches against #12 Berne-Knox, #4 Mekeel Christian and #1 Lake George to qualify for the finals with a record of 12-7-0. HFCS won matches against #10 Voorheesville, #2 Galway and #14 Stillwater in the first round, quarter and semifinals, respectively to earn a record of 15-5-0. Game time saw the mercury warm to 42° and a cross field wind of 10 mph.

HFCS Field Hockey Loses Heartbreaker

The Panther field hockey team went up to Shenendehowa High School to take on arch rival Greenwich (18-1) on Sunday, November 4. The Greenwich Witches had beaten the Panthers twice this year by a total of two goals. It is very difficult to beat a good team three times in one season, and the Panthers were looking for a victory to advance into the State playoffs.

Cheerleader Squads At BCS

Berlin Central High School is proud to announce the 2012-13 cheerleading squads. Several of these ladies are returning cheerleaders and have been on the squad since eighth grade. As their coaches we thank them for their dedication to our school and welcome their spirit again this year. We also look forward to working with many new ladies for the first time in representing our school with pride and spirit on both squads.

Hoosick Falls Ski/Snowboard Club
Join the Willard Mountain Ski/Snowboard Club! Students in Grades 5-8 at Hoosick Falls Central School and St. Mary’s Academy have the opportunity to enjoy six weeks of skiing/snowboarding at nearby Willard Mountain, beginning January 2. Lift and lessons are offered for only $120 or with rentals $155. Bus transportation is included at no extra cost too. Leaving HFCS at 3:30 pm, we ski/board until 8:30 pm, return equipment and arrive back at HFCS about 9:30 pm.

Dyken Pond Center Wreath Fundraiser – Revised
The Friends of the Dyken Pond Center are selling Balsam fir wreaths. Each 18 inch wreath will be packed full of aromatic balsam fir, pine cones, a large red bow and a collectible original Dyken Pond nature ornament that can be kept for years to come. This is a pre-order sale, and all wreaths must be ordered by November 13. The cost is $20. There are various pick-up options beginning on November 17.
