Come celebrate the Berlin Homecoming this Friday, September 28, at Berlin Central Middle/High School. The Homecoming begins at 4 pm with the honoring of all Berlin fall varsity sports – soccer, cross country and volleyball – followed by the Boys Varsity soccer game versus New Lebanon.
Afterwards please join us for a bonfire with music and food behind the school.

Mountaineer Boys Soccer Defeats Heatly 2 To 0

Heatly played an outstanding defensive game playing an offside trap that caught Berlin offsides throughout the game. But Kyle Burdick, taking a direct kick restart, got the ball to Jackson Burhans who knocked the ball into the goal to give Berlin a 1 to 0 lead in the second half.
Heatly had a penalty kick opportunity to tie the game, but Mike Reger made an outstanding save for Berlin. Dylan Hover scored the second Berlin goal late in the game to ice the win.
Kevin Greene in goal for Heatly had 16 saves. Mike Reger for Berlin had 7 saves. There were no cards in the game.
BCS Boys JV Has A Big Turnout

The Berlin boys JV soccer team is presently 1-3-1. The team consists of seventh through tenth grade athletes. Since Berlin is the only school in the CHVL league with a boys JV team, they face opponents from class A and B level schools. The team travels across three states to get a full schedule.

Dyken Pond Bird Seed Sale
The Dyken Pond 20th Annual Bird Seed Sale is a fundraiser to benefit the Friends of the Dyken Pond Center. Panthers Clobber Taconic Hills 47 – 8

It didn’t take long to realize the visiting Taconic Hills Titans were in over their helmets. The Hoosick Falls Panther football team scored 27 unanswered points in the first quarter. The Panthers scored 5 offensive touchdowns and a defensive TD to run out to a 41 – 0 halftime lead.

Youth Bowling At The Barbecue Lanes
Youth bowling will begin at the Barbecue Lanes on Saturday, September 22, for kids 5 to 21 years of age. Kids aged 12 to 15 will need to sign up and sanction at 8:15 am. Ages 5 to 11 will sign up at 10:15 am. If you have any questions, call Jack at 518-686-5751.

BCS Boys Soccer Beats Germantown

James Mayer scored the lone Berlin goal on a rebound midway in the second half to give the Mountaineers a 1 to 0 win over Germantown.
Berlin dominated the first half but Germantown keeper Mandy Fuchs shut Berlin out. He had 15 saves. In the second half Germantown took over the scoring opportunities but could not score on Berlin keeper Mike Reger who had 13 saves.
The contest was well played with no cards given in the game.
A Photo Finish In Golf

The Hoosick Falls Golf Team played its last home match Monday, September 17, against Tamarac. “Hoosick Falls had a victory, but it wasn’t like any other match,” said Coach Pam Hatfield. “After the first five matches were tallied, it was a tie. Player number six also tied his match.” The tie was broken by adding the scores of the first three golfers of each team in which Hoosick Falls won by one stroke. “Now that’s a photo finish!” said Hatfield.
