St. Mary’s Academy Indoor Volleyball Tournament
On Saturday, January 21, from 10 am to 4 pm, St. Mary’s Academy will be hosting its annual indoor volleyball tournament. Competitive (“A”) and Non-Competitive (“B”) teams are invited to participate. The cost is $30 per player or $25 per player if you pre-register and pay for a team of six by January 13.

GLSP 27th Annual Winter Festival
Grafton Lakes State Park and the Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park will host the 27th Annual Winter Festival and Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, January 21. The Winter Fest will feature winter exhibits, vendors, family friendly and recreational activities. The Winter Fest is free of charge and main events run from 10 am to 4 pm.

Free Throws Push Panthers To Victory In Triple OT

After watching the first quarter of Tuesday night’s Hoosick Falls versus Stillwater matchup, you would not think a close game was a possibility, let alone a triple overtime nail-biter. That’s what happened though as the Warriors battled back from an early double digit deficit to give the spectators in Hoosick Falls a little extra basketball.

Mountaineers Overcome Slow Start To Top Heatly

The Berlin boys basketball team seemed to start a little flat on Monday night against Heatly. The Mountaineers were outplayed in the first quarter, allowing the Hornets to capitalize on second and third shot opportunities by not boxing out and by getting out rebounded. Despite all that, Berlin still was able to stay close, trailing 16-14 after one quarter.

Panther Bowlers Win Four
On Thursday, December 15, the HFCS bowling team won a tri-match against North Warren, 4-0, and Lake George, 4-0. The total match pin count was Hoosick Falls – 3,803 to North Warren’s 2,524 and Lake George’s 2,724. HooRWA Annual Meeting
The Board of Directors and Staff of the Hoosic River Watershed Association are pleased to invite the public to the 26th Annual Meeting of HooRWA. The guest speaker will be Russ Cohen of the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game, Riverways Program, who will speak on “Why We Should Care About Wild Trout Streams and their Inhabitants.”

Fourth Quarter Surge Leads Witches Over Panthers

On December 1, 1961, the Hoosick Falls Central School opened their brand new gym with a Washington County League boys basketball game against Stillwater. Spectators entering Tuesday night’s game at the school received a photocopy of the article discussing the new gym’s opening that was published in the Hoosick Falls Standard Press on Thursday, November 30, 1961. Look for more 50th Anniversary Season highlights at games as the season continues.
