Jordan Haynes scored in the first half for HFCS assisted by Meg McKee. Mechanicville tied the game in the second half. The game went into OT and then sudden death OT, which is two 5 minute periods. Jordan Haynes scored with an assist by Grace Delurey in the second sudden death OT. Everyone gave 110%, and the defense had an amazing performance. Regional play will be this Saturday in Messena.

Mountaineer Boys XC Takes Section II, Class D Runner-Up

The Berlin boys cross country team took second place in Class D at the Section II Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 4, at Saratoga State Park. Alex French led the way for Berlin with a 10th place finish in 17:14. The Mountaineers packed their next seven runners into a 22 second span, finishing from 14th place to 23rd place to secure second place as a team in the race. Panthers Go To Third Consecutive Super Bowl

The Hoosick Falls football team stamped its ticket to a third straight Class C Super Bowl on Saturday, overcoming injuries to put away Watervliet 34-8 in the semifinal game at Stillwater High School. The Panthers will now take on Fonda in the Class C Super Bowl on Saturday night at 7 pm at Stillwater.

Panthers’ Boys Soccer Run Comes to End

The Hoosick Falls boys soccer team’s amazing sectional run came to a tough end on Wednesday night in Johnstown at the hands of #1 seed Maple Hill. The #13 seeded Panthers did not go quietly though, fighting until the bitter end, hoping for yet another upset. The Panther defense, anchored by goalie Cody Gaines, played a great game, holding one of the top offensive teams in Section II scoreless for 66 minutes before the Wildcats scored.

Panther Boys Soccer Upsets #5 Seed Waterford

The Hoosick Falls boys soccer team continued its late season run in Monday’s Class C quarterfinal sectional game. The red hot Panthers, seeded #13 entering sectionals, have already knocked off #4 Galway in penalty kicks in the first round. In the quarterfinals Hoosick Falls was matched up against #5 seed Waterford from the CHVL.
