Large Mouth Bass Stocked At Cherry Plain State Park
Cherry Plain State Park received some new residents that will benefit local anglers. In late October, a group of Park staff, including Acting Manager Melissa Miller and friends, were able to take part in a long awaited fish stocking program on Black River Pond. The group assisted local fishery owner, John Clark from Northeastern Aquatics, in releasing 1,000 large mouth bass into the pond.

Bonfire And Caroling On The Greenway
On Thursday evening, December 16, there will be a bonfire and caroling on the Hoosic River Greenway with surging voices and special effects. Meet at the old water works off Carey Avenue in Hoosick Falls. We’ll sing from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
Sheet music will be provided, so bring a headlamp or flashlight and dress very warmly. Rain will cancel the event, but…let it snow!
This event is sponsored by the Hoosic River Watershed Association and the Village of Hoosick Falls.
Panther Bowlers Win First Match
The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Stillwater by the score of 4-0 in their first match of the season. The Panthers outscored Stillwater by a total pin count of 3,674 to 2,690.

No Wrestling At BCS
On Monday, BCS Athletic Director Arthur Schmich announced, “Due to the fact we were unable to find a coach and that only three wrestlers went to Saturday’s Weight Certification, we will not have a wrestling program this year.”
Consequently, swimmers will need to find a ride home from swim practice since there will be no New Lebanon bus to take them home, he added.
Yule Log Tradition At The Dyken Pond Center
Celebrate the outdoors this season by attending the annual Yule Log Event at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center on Sunday, December 12. Beginning at 1 pm, there will a search for the hidden yule log. Guests can then enjoy this informal day at the outdoor campfire or make holiday crafts for the season. There will also be a children’s scavenger hunt as well. People of all ages are encouraged to come out and don’t forget to bring your sleds! Hot chocolate and light snacks will be provided or feel free to bring your own snacks as well.

Red Storm Rains Down On Panthers’ State Title Quest

A 32-yard field goal in overtime by Saranac Lake’s Forrest Morgan sealed the win in last Saturday’s Class C Regional Final against Class C Section II Super Bowl Champs Hoosick Falls Panthers.
The Panthers held a solid lead throughout most of the game with scores by quarterback Mike Brewster and receiver Quinn Rasmus before halftime.

BCS Fall Sports Awards

Ten Berlin Middle/High School Fall sports teams were honored Wednesday with certificates and awards. Athletic Director Art Schmich started the program by thanking all his coaches, bus drivers, maintenance workers and the parents for a well run season.
