Man Fined For Stephentown Wildlife Violations
The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation announced that James H. Connors, III, 55, of Pittsfield, MA, pleaded guilty to four violations of Environmental Conservation Law in Stephentown Town Court on October 3 – hunting deer over bait, hunting turkey over bait, taking protected birds and the illegal hunting of fisher. Connors was fined $250 for each violation for a total $1,000 fine.

Football Homecoming: It Doesn’t Get Any Better

Football doesn’t get any more exciting than last Friday’s homecoming game between HFCS and Cambridge HS for the Ken Baker Jug. Excitement built up through the week as everyone talked about the upcoming event. It was the game not to be missed by folks in either community. The late Ken Baker taught and coached at HF and Cambridge Schools. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He produced championship teams at both schools. Possession of the Ken Baker Jug is a matter of pride, no doubt. Many of his former players were there to cheer on their teams.

The New Lebanon and Berlin girls varsity soccer teams battled for third place in Saturday’s New Lebanon Soccer Tournament on rainy, muddy fields. It was an even match, going back and forth for most of the first half. Wide shots and saves were the name of the game for Berlin and New Lebanon.

Berlin Boys Win Rough One

At the New Lebanon Soccer Tournament, the Berlin boys varsity squad took on Hoosic Valley in the consolation game. The game was evenly matched throughout with the ball going back and forth to both ends of the field. This was a very physical game and both teams were getting slide-tackled from behind and pushed.
