Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Heartbreak on the soccer field this past week as the Berlin Mountaineers Boys Squad lost both the game and first place in the Central Hudson Valley League.  The Eagles of Loudonville Christian scored with just over three minutes left to play to break a 1-1 tie.  The victory also gave the Eagles sole possession of first place in the league, with the Mountaineers holding down second.  [Read more…] about Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Pioneer Fish and Game Club, Inc. held its 69th yearly election on September 23 at the Club’s grounds in Potter Hill. Panthers Chasing League Crown

The Lady Panthers got another win last week, so they were tied for the league lead with Mechanicville as this week began, with identical 11 – 1 records, with both teams having one league game left to play. Undefeated Ladies Win Wasaren League Title

For the third straight year, the Panthers are league champions, a major feat in any sport. HFCS field hockey, led by head coach Denise Campbell, has been very successful. These girls know how to win because they are coached to win. Panthers Fall To Corinth, 38 – 26

With seven starters out due to injuries or illness, the HFCS Panthers gave the Corinth Tomahawks all the game they could handle. Announcing “The End To End”: Twenty-Nine Miles Along The Taconic Crest Trail

The Taconic Hiking Club has announced that The End to End, a 29-mile endurance challenge along the Taconic Crest Trail, will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

This event pits entrants against 29 miles of unimproved backwoods trails traversing three states: New York, Vermont and Massachusetts.  The challenge of this hike is a cumulative total of 7,836 feet of ascent and 9,470 feet of descent to be completed in one day.
