Berlin Boys Soccer Wins At Home vs New Lebanon, Loses Close One At Doane Stuart

On Friday October 2, the Berlin Boys Soccer team lost a close one to Doane Stuart in Rensselaer by a score of 1-0. This was the Mountaineers first league loss this season, and drops them into a tie with Loudonville Christian, whom they beat earlier this year.  Berlin’s only other loss was in the New Lebanon tournament to Mt. Field Hockey Cruises Along, 12 – 0

HF 5 – Corinth 2

Corinth High, 9/30, HF (O) 10-0, (L) 8-0, Cor (O) 2-7. The Lady Panthers got out to a quick lead when Liz Ryan, with an assist from Ally Burdick, scored with less than one minute gone in the game. Burdick and Ryan both scored later in the half to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead at the break. After the Tomahawks scored an early second half goal, the Panthers scored twice more. Burdick, assisted by Megan Henry, scored first and an unassisted Ryan goal with 2:50 left capped the scoring. Cassie Sherman had five saves in goal while Corinth goalie A. Public Archaeology & Volunteering Day At Bennington Battlefield

On Saturday, October 24 a Public Archaeology Day will be held at the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site in Walloomsac, NY off Route 67. The event is open to the general public and free of charge. Consultants with Commonwealth Cultural Resources Group, Inc. and NYS Parks employees will be on hand to share the history of the battle, provide demonstrations of both metal detecting and ground penetrating radar equipment as well as to discuss the future of the site.
