Petersburgh Public Library News
The Petersburgh Public Library continues to hold pre-school story hour on Tuesday mornings at 11 am. On March 26 we will be having stories with the letter “M” theme, and on April 9 join us for stories about Owls. There will be no story hour on April 2 because of the school vacation.
The book discussion group is reading Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo. The book will be discussed on Monday, April 8 at 7:30 pm. Everyone is invited to stop by the Library and pick up a copy of the book and join us for the discussion.
Missing DVDs
The Library has DVDs which can be signed out of the Library for seven days. This has been a service we have provided for quite a few years now. In the last few months there have been one or more individuals who have been abusing this service by taking DVDs without signing them out and never returning them. There have been over 35 DVDs which have disappeared from the Library in the last three months and many additional more in the preceding months. We would ask the public if they are aware of any movies which belong to the Library to please return them in our video drop or bring them in to the Library. We would like to make these movies available to everyone in our community.
Benefit Spaghetti And Meatball Dinner
There will be a benefit spaghetti and meatball dinner for the family of North Hoosick Firefighter Michael Cottrell on Saturday, March 30, beginning at 4:30 pm at the North Hoosick Fire Station on Rt. 22. Mike passed away on Thursday, March 7. The family did not have insurance, therefore, the dinner is being held to help the family with funeral costs and other expenses.
Tickets for this benefit cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Anyone who would like to make a donation may do so through the Fire Department at the time of the event. Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting Chief Alan Bornt at 378-4538 or Eric Amidon at 955-8206. Depending upon sales, tickets may be available at the door. Take-outs are also available.
A Chinese auction will also be held at this event. Any person or business that would like to donate an item for this event can contact Jackie Sullivan at 686-4187.

Grover At The NL Library
Berkshire musician David Grover will perform at New Lebanon Library on March 29 at 7 pm. The event is oriented towards teens and adults, although music lovers of all ages are welcome. The program is free and open to the public, although donations for the performer are appreciated.
Grover has been compared to Paul Simon, James Taylor and Raffi, earning countless awards including a Grammy nomination and Artist of the Year. His acoustic guitar stylings are renowned, and his folky message songs make him irresistible across the generations. He spent many years as Arlo Guthrie’s lead guitar and band leader and his Big Bear Band has performed at the White House, opened the Goodwill Games, appeared on The Today Show and performed with the Detroit Symphony for their Youth Series.
For further information, please call the Library at 518-794-8844. The Library is located at 550 State Route 20, ¼ mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.
