Cheney Library Offers Shopping Opportunity For Kids!
Calling all kids! Come and shop for your parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles. The elves have been bringing lots of gifts to Cheney Library. As soon as you pick them out they will be wrapped and a gift tag put on ready for giving. The Holiday Shop is for all children and will be open Saturday, December 3 at Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls, NY from 9 am to 1 pm. All gifts are between 50 cents and $1. This is the same day as the First Saturday Book Sale. So be sure to take advantage of this fantastic offer to shop locally.
Community Tree Lighting
All are invited to Stephentown’s fifth annual Community Tree Lighting and Carol Sing-Along to be held at 6 pm on Sunday, December 11 at the Veterans Park. Caroling will be led by Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt and Edie Beach. Refreshments and socializing will follow at the Town Hall on Grange Hall Road.

Operation Christmas Cookie At The HAYC3 Armory
This year Operation Christmas Cookie is starting its ninth year of sending packages of homemade cookies to troops overseas during the holiday!

The Hoosick Falls Central School took a total of 270 water samples on September 24 building-wide from classroom sinks, drinking fountains, and other taps, to be tested for lead levels in the water. At its School Board meeting on November 16, New Lebanon Central School District announced that it has received results of lead testing for the Walter B Howard Elementary School. Berlin District Has 51 Taps Above The 15 ppb Threshold

Water from the High School/Middle School and the Elementary School in the Berlin School District has tested positive for lead, it was reported at the Tuesday, November 15 School Board meeting.
According the District’s Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, Cyril Grant, 17 of 39 samples from the Elementary School and 34 of 94 samples at the High School/Middle School came back with lead amounts higher than the New York State accepted level of 15 parts per billion (ppb).
