The first of two public hearings held Monday night by the Grafton Planning Board saw questions about the proposal and several statements of support. Jane McDermott was asked by Mike Salway about the hours of the proposed business, parking and traffic concerns, alcohol on site, noise levels and whether it would be a not-for-profit operation. Hoosick Falls own “Big Band”, known as The Stardusters will present their annual concert in the Wood Memorial Park Bandstand on Wednesday, June 29, at 7:30 pm. Rensselaer County Legislature Urges More State Funding For District Attorney And Public Defender’s Office

As part of the recently enacted NYS budget, the state legislature approved a 1.6-million-dollar increase in the salaries of district attorneys statewide. This was the direct result of the Commission on Legislative, Judicial and Executive compensation granting increases to all state judges. Judicial law links these salaries to that of a County District Attorney. In Rensselaer County this increases the salary of DA Joel Abelove by $30,850 to an annual stipend of $183,350.
