In 1754, Benjamin Franklin published a drawing of a snake cut into eight parts (Georgia was not included). This was to show the members of the Albany Congress the danger of disunity. The rattlesnake had become a favored symbol among pre-Revolutionary War colonists.

HFCS Graduates 96

“You match up against your peers anywhere in the country,” HFCS High School Principal Stacy Vadney told the 2014 graduating class on Friday evening, June 27. The class had a 93% graduation rate, compared to a National average of 76%. Eighty percent of them are going on to college. Three quarters of them received Regents diplomas. After four years of learning with the guidance of teachers, business leaders, experts and university professors, members of the Tech Valley High School Class of 2014 entered the “real world” during a ceremony on Saturday, June 21.

Jen Stellar has had llamas in her life since she was four. “They’re wonderful pack animals,” she said. “They’re fun to be around, and they will do anything for you.” Jen began showing her llamas in 4-H. In a couple of years she started showing them as an independent for the family’s Misty Maples Farm.

According to Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office Public Affairs Officer Yvonne Keefe, on July 1 at approximately 11:30 am Rensselaer County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kevin J. Ramer, age 27, of 15 River Road, Apt #2, Hoosick Falls, and charged him with section 263.15 and 263.16 NYS Penal Law Promoting a Sexual Performance of child (D-Felony) and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a child (E-Felony).
