Hoosick Road (NYS Route 7) traffic and ambulance coverage questions dominated the discussion at the Brunswick Town Council meeting on Thursday, November 10. First, the traffic. GHENT – Thomas Alden Button, 67, died suddenly Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Ghent Assisted Living in Ghent, NY.

Cambridge Closet Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Friday, November 11, from 8 am to noon, the Cambridge Central School District (CCSD) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Cambridge Closet, for community members to find items for their students who are in need of clothing or toiletries.
The closet is equipped with lightly-used or new clothing, sneakers, boots, winter gear, backpacks, hygiene kits, and more, for those who find themselves in need. Fatal Accident
Submitted by the Hoosick Falls Police Department
Hoosick Falls Police along with the New York State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on High Street just North of Danforth Street on Monday, November 7, at approximately 4:36 pm. The motorcycle, which was traveling North on High Street, struck a telephone pole. The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center pending an autopsy. The name of the motorcycle operator is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Hoosick Falls Police at 518-686-7651. Information will be released as it becomes available.
Foodstock 8

According to Feeding America, in Rensselaer and surrounding counties, over 89,000 people are food insecure, 25,000 of which are young children and infants. They don’t have the means to afford fresh food, hygiene products, or provide baby formula to their infant. Where does one go to receive assistance and combat food insecurity? The Food Pantries of the Capital District.
Sunday, November 6, the Rustic Barn Pub, along with event host and advocate Bob Gamache, hosted Foodstock 8. Since its 2017 inception, Foodstock is held to raise awareness about food insecurity and help feed the hungry in the Capital Region. And the eighth edition of Sunday’s event was no different.
