Next HFCS PTA Meeting
The next business meeting of the HFCS PTA will take place on Wednesday, February 16, in the Elementary School Library beginning at 6:30 pm.
As always, members and non-members are encouraged to join meetings to find out what the PTA is doing for our children and to share ideas for special programs and events to benefit the children and families of our school district.

Free Flu Clinic
The Rensselaer County Department of Health will be hosting a free flu inoculation clinic for County residents on Saturday, February 12, from 10 am to noon at Mink’s Firehouse located at 595 Broadway in the City of Rensselaer.
All residents age 18 and over are urged to be vaccinated against the flu and especially residents 65 and older or individuals 18 to 64 years old who are either a smoker or suffer from long term health problems.
Registration for the clinic is not required. For more information about the upcoming clinic, please contact the Rensselaer County Department of Health at 270-2655.
Amber Walker On Russell Sage College Dean’s List
Amber Walker from Petersburgh, a History/Childhood Education major at Russell Sage College, has been placed on the Dean’s List for the fall 2010 semester. Dean’s List students have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.4 while carrying a course load of at least 12 credits.
Brunswick Elks Mardi Gras Bash
The Brunswick Elks #2556, 665 Brunswick Road, Troy, will host a Mardi Gras Bash on Saturday, February 19, from 7 to 11 pm. The tickets cost $25 which includes entry, good music from Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers, great food, beer, wine and soda.
Profits from this event will aide the Pittstown United Methodist Food Pantry. Beads will be given to all guests bringing a nonperishable food item for the pantry.

Sledding Event And Races On The Greenway
There will be a sledding event and sled races on Saturday, February 19, from 1 to 3 pm, weather permitting, on the short hill on the Greenway near the old water works plant off Carey Avenue in Hoosick Falls. Build or decorate your own sled and bring it. Prizes will be given for the most creative sled concept and fastest sled-pullers.
