Stephentown To Review Land Use Regs

Following a moment of silence in respect for Martin Luther King, a public hearing was held prior to the regular Stephentown Town Board meeting on Monday, January 17 regarding proposed Local Law #1 of 2011 on Fee Reimbursement. The intent of the law, as Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt put it, is to solidify and spell out existing provisions of the Town’s land use and subdivision regulations that require reimbursement to the Town for legal and engineering fees incurred in the process of reviewing and approving plans and designs of developers by the Town Board, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Battle Flag Presented To Grafton

On Thursday, January 13, the Grafton Town Board gratefully accepted the donation of an American flag from First Lieutenant Dan Naske, Pilot 4ERS, US Air Force. The flag was flown in Afghanistan on August 13, 2010, on his behalf.
Highway Crew Has Busy Winter

Petersburgh Town Board Action – January 2011

The Petersburgh Town Board confronted the inadequacies of the heating system in the Veterans Memorial Hall at their meeting this week. Previous to the 2009 renovation, the heat was delivered through ducts in the floor and returned through ducts near the ceiling. When the heating system was replaced as part of the 2009 renovation, the system was designed to supply warm air through the ducts above. The Hoosick Falls Senior Chorus Is On The Road Again – Now At The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall

Did you miss seeing the HFCS Chorus at Carnegie Hall? Now is your chance to see them perform at the historic Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
On Sunday, February 13, at 4 pm the Hoosick Falls Senior Chorus will participate in High School Choralfest XI.  Spend the afternoon listening to five of the area’s best high school choirs paired with Albany Pro Musica and the Empire Youth Repertory Orchestra under the direction of David Beck.

Celebrating 100 Years Of Scouting

Boy Scouts of  America was founded in 1910 and Hoosick Falls Troop 65 has been celebrating throughout 2010.
This year they made every hike, camp-out  or community event extra special for the celebration. They even joined forces with other area scouts to create a “Hoosick  Falls Salutes 100 Years of Scouting ”  T-shirt honoring past and present Troops  63, 64, 65, 67 and 68.
