Make A Difference Day Success

Beat The Clock At Berlin H.S.
Wednesday evening, November 10, at 6:30 pm, department against department, faculty and staff will battle with plungers, balloons, ping pong balls and other “sports equipment” to Beat The Clock. In the style of the 1950s game show, spectators will cheer on staff members competing against the clock to perform wild and crazy tasks!
Proceeds from the evening’s antics will benefit the Class of 2011 Senior trip to Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore. Tickets cost $3 and are available at the door. Refreshments will be sold. This should be an evening of fun for the entire family.
Upcoming Events At PVMCC
On November 11 we are honored to honor our Veterans with our Annual Covered Dish Supper. Free to all; bring a covered dish to share. Doors open at 5 pm, and the meal will start at 6 pm. There will be karaoke and music with Daniel Schnoop. We will have a 50/50 raffle, coffee and tea, great company, good food and dance. Come and enjoy! The music is sponsored by Rose & Kiernan Insurance.

Berlin Fire Department Open House And Wet Down
The Berlin Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Auxiliary invite you to an Open House from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 6, at the Firehouse on Community Avenue. Learn about fire prevention and look at the apparatus and equipment; the new fire truck and ambulance will be on display. There will be a free Blood Pressure Clinic, 911 House Numbers (given to Berlin residents only), a whale program, an exhibit of Poster Contest Winners and Door Prizes. Light refreshments will be provided by Stewart’s. Stop in and see what’s happening and learn how to become a member.
The wet-down for the new truck will follow from 2 to 4 pm.
Day Peckinpaugh Subject At The Grafton Historical Society Meeting
The Grafton Historical Society’s November meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on November 17 at 7 pm.

The Stephentown Library will be closed on Thursday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. We will be open Wednesday, November 10, and Friday, November 12, as usual to meet your needs.
• Tween Night – Join us on Friday, November 12, at 6:30 pm for fun for Tweens at the Stephentown Memorial Library. This popular monthly program for tweens age 10-14 is a great way to spend a weekend evening. This month features a celebration of Native American heritage with special guest Fidel Moreno, who will lead an interactive program with Big Drum and Two Native American Ghost Stories in the Community Room. • Sunday, November 7 – the New Lebanon Book Group will meet at 11 am to discuss Both Ways is the Only Way I Want It by Maile Meloy. This book of short stories was chosen one of the 10 Best Books of 2009 by The New York Times Book Review.

The Grafton Book Group To Discuss Dog As Narrator
The book discussion group of the Grafton Community Library will be reading The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein for November. This is a heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty and hope.
