The West Hoosick Fire Department announces an All You Can Eat breakfast at the firehouse on Sunday, October 17, from 7:30 to 11 am. The menu includes pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This is our last breakfast for the year. Thank you for supporting your local volunteers. The Pioneer Fish & Game Club, Inc. held its sixth Annual Banquet and Election of Officers on Sunday, September 19. Elected to office for the coming year were President Ed Sukuskas, Vice President Rodd Post, Treasurer Dick Ogden and Secretary Gary Sargood. Appointed Trustees are Gary Keegan, Ed Sukuskas, Jr. and Don McCabe.

Hooskip Dairy Farm Tour
On Saturday, October 23, at 1 pm, join the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) and the Rensselaer Land Trust (RLT) for a tour of the 100 cow Hooskip Farm dairy operation run by the McMahon family. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the inner workings of a small, family-owned, dairy farm in an absolutely beautiful landscape. October 16 – bird seed pick-up day at Capital Agway in Brunswick; 9 am to 12 pm.
October 17 – Fall Foliage Hike for all ages; leisurely hike on Center trails; 1to 3 pm; free.
October 30 – Map and Compass; the basics of reading topographical maps and using compass to navigate your way off trail. Basic skills will be covered that are useful even if you are using a GPS; 10 am to 2 pm; $10 or $8 for members. Pre-registration is required. Trick or Treat Nature Trail At Grafton Lakes State Park
Grafton Lakes State Park will be holding its third Annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail on Saturday, October 30, from 5 to 7 pm. Kids can go on a fun adventure on the trail, challenge their senses with some nature mysteries and, by trail’s end, find some treats. The trail departs from Shaver Nature Center, 194 Shaver Pond Road in Grafton.
