Fall Fest Is Coming To Berlin Middle-High School

Berlin Middle-High School is celebrating its 18th Annual Fall Festival at the school on Saturday, October 16, from 10 am to 3 pm, topped off with a Family Dance from 7:30 to 10 pm which the whole community is welcome to attend. The inter-generational dance will feature a DJ with music from different eras – so everyone will hear his or her favorite songs.

Cheney Library Book And Bake Sale

The Cheney Library is excited to announce that it will be having a fall book and bake sale on Saturday, October 23, from 8 am to 1 pm at the Library. The Library is located on Classic Street/Route 22 across from the old St. Mary’s building in Hoosick Falls. We will be selling bags of books for $2 each, and we will have a wide variety of selections for you to choose from. We will be offering baked goods and cider for sale to enjoy as you browse our inventory.

Friends Of GLSP Annual Dinner And Plateau Geology Lecture

The Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park Annual Dinner and Meeting is coming up on Thursday, November 4, at 6 pm at the Grafton Inn on Route 2.
We are fortunate to have David DeSimone, local geologist and adjunct professor at RPI, sharing the topic of “The History and Environmental Geology of the Rensselaer Plateau.”  It’s an incredible story that starts over 500 million years ago!  The lecture will begin at approximately 7 pm.

New Lebanon Library October Events

Friday, October 15 – Family Movie Night, at 6:30 pm,  a free showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call for title. Popcorn will be provided.
Saturday, October  16 – Chess Instruction For Kids at 10 am. Players at all ages and levels are welcome.
Thursday, October  21 – Book Discussion And Signing at 7 pm. Author Ed Maurer discusses his book Survive & Escape: One Family Chooses Life, an account of one family’s survival and escape from fascist Europe. Open discussion, book signing and light refreshments follow.
