New Lebanon Special Election On Town Hall Renovation Is June 29

On June 29, the Town of New Lebanon will decide whether it wants to approve the Town Hall renovation project. The referendum will be held from 12 to 9 pm at the Immaculate Conception Meeting Hall, which is located at 732 US Rt. 20. On June 28 there will be a public information meeting at 7 pm at the American Legion Hall. The referendum was originally scheduled for August. Petersburgh Library News

The Petersburgh Public Library will kick off its “Make a Splash – Read” Summer Reading Program on Tuesday, July 6, at 7 pm with a performance by Caryn Tindall’s unique and fascinating dog performing team, the Dazzle Dogs. Each act is filled with poetic movement and incredible dog feats as the dogs dance, show their agility and do tricks, all to music. They will mesmerize and delight audiences of all ages. The Dazzle Dogs program will be held at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center next door to the Library.

No Public Vote On Grafton Assessors

The Grafton Town Board held a public hearing on Thursday June 17 on its proposal to have a sole appointed assessor rather than the current system of having three elected assessors. There were about 30 citizens who came to the hearing. The room was just about full.

Hoosick Athletic Fields Renamed In Memory Of Ken Baker

The weekend of events memorializing legendary coach and educator Ken Baker and supporting the Coach Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund culminated with a brief dedication ceremony at the Town Athletic Fields on Sunday, June 13. Hoosick Town Councilman Bob Ryan, Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly and Councilman Jeff Wysocki presented the Baker Family with a proclamation renaming the complex the Coach Ken Baker Athletic Fields. Petersburgh Passes Revised Water Law

The spot light in the Petersburgh Town Board meeting on June 21 was on the proposed water district law revisions. The law was passed after much discussion about the revisions and other issues with the water district. There were complaints from the public regarding the quality of the water, the way it is tested and about Water District Superintendent Todd Stradinger. Grafton Town Board Action – June 2010

At the Grafton Town Board meeting in June, Highway Superintendent Herb Hasbrouck reported on a project that the Highway Department has been working hard on for a long time. This project is an Emergency Management Program, a program that has been approved and accepted by the County. Setting The Record Straight

In a telephone conversation on Friday afternoon, June 18, Berlin Central School District Interim Superintendent of Schools Charlotte Gregory explained the purpose of the slate of resolutions she presented to the School Board to vote on in the Board of Education meeting on June 16. The resolutions were to be taken as a whole and were intended to meet the technical requirements for a series of reassignments throughout the School District’s administration.
