Concert In Memory Of Brad Cole

“It was a sad day in July 1960 when H. Bradford Cole died at his home making breakfast. He was the music man of the community and spent 18 years motivating the students of the Hoosick falls Schools. He never refused or missed a parade. The community, the area, and the students counted on him. I remember the weeks that followed. Relay For Life Car Wash

HFCS Board Meeting

The Hoosick Falls School Board meeting began with presentations from the Athletic Booster Club, the Performing Arts Booster Club and the PTA. Superintendent Ken Facin said it was “great to hear about all of the activities supported by these dedicated volunteer groups and the many ways they enrich the lives of our students.”

Kindergartners Wear Helmets For Bicycle Safety

The kindergarten classes at Hoosick Falls Central School have been learning about bicycle safety and the importance of wearing a helmet.  As a culminating activity to this unit, on Friday, June 11, the students participated in a Trike-A-Thon!  To raise money for the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, students gathered pledges and then took turns riding bikes, tricycles and scooters around the gymnasium for an entire hour.  The kindergarten students raised $1,840!

17th Century Dutch Architecture

The summer potluck dinner meeting of the Stephentown Historical Society will be Monday, July 12, at 6:30 pm at the Stephentown Firehall, 35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown. Those attending should bring a hearty appetite and a dish large enough to share, either main dish, salad or dessert. Plates, utensils and beverages will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. For directions, telephone 518-733-5675.
