HFCS Drama Presents Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

The Hoosick Falls Central School Drama Club proudly presents the Tony award winning musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, at 7 pm, and Sunday, May 2, at 2 pm. Panther Softball Team Loses 1-0 In 12 As Quackenbush Strikes Out 20

Home standing Schuylerville Central School scored the only run of a twelve inning softball nail biter last Monday afternoon, April 19, on a passed ball as the Black Horses beat Charlie Weeden’s Hoosick Falls Central School Panther nine in WASAREN League action. Despite 20 strikeouts from the Queen of the Diamond, sophomore pitching ace Rachel Quackenbush, HFCS fell to 2-1 in league play and to 4-1 overall.

Berlin Baseball Loses To New Lebanon

The Berlin Central School varsity baseball team took on New Lebanon at home on Wednesday, April 14, and got off to a quick lead with triples from Tyler Bacon and Aaron Gundlack and a double from Scotty Bamba in the first inning. But New Lebanon didn’t let Berlin keep them down. In the top of the third with the bases loaded, Jessie Conklin hit a great RBI that would tie the game up 6-6. All school districts in New York State must provide Absentee Ballots to all qualified voters.
To qualify for an Absentee Ballot, you must fall under one of the following guidelines:
• absent from district while polls are open due to business occupation or studies;
• confined in a hospital or jail or having a physical disability or illness;
• absent due to vacation (includes retirees).

Hoosick Grange met on Wednesday, April 14. It was Hop Night. One hundred years ago, hops were picked by hand, a very social event. Going to the hop would have been a fan event. Marion Brenenstuhl introduced Gary Brown and Peter Martin. Gary owns Brown Brewery of Troy, NY. Peter is in charge of production. They told us how they grow hops locally. North Hoosick Fire Department To hold 250th Kids Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department is celebrating its 250th kids dance on Friday, April 23, from 7 to 9:45 pm at the firehouse on Rt. 22. Students ages 9 to 15 who attend Cambridge Central, Hoosick Falls Central, St. Mary’s Academy or Mount Anthony Middle School are invited to attend this special event.

Bob Dwyer To Present Updated Funeral Information

On Friday, April 23, the Seniors’ Ministry of Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish, New Lebanon, will host its regular monthly get-together at 11:30 am. This month, funeral director and parishioner, Bob Dwyer, will explain some of the more recent changes in the Catholic funeral Mass and burial service, including cremation rites. He will also discuss regulatory issues, such as embalming, transporting the deceased person across state lines and local requirements for burial vaults.
