Lohnes Pleads Not Guilty; Case Will Go To Trial

Michael Lohnes was arraigned before a Grand Jury on Thursday, July 23, on a four count indictment. The charges were burglary in the third degree, aggravated assault on an animal, cruelty to animals and criminal mischief. He pled not guilty. Stephentown Powwow Will Honor Veterans

The theme this year of the 4th Annual Rock Rattle and Drum Powwow and Spirit On The Mountain Music Festival, to be held at Gardner’s Field in Stephentown on August 7, 8 and 9, is “America – Fly Like an Eagle, Forever Free – Honoring our Veterans, Healing Our Warriors.” Besides being an important Native American festival, it is shaping up to be a significant event honoring and serving veterans of all sorts.

The NLCS Alumni Annual Reunion Is Well Attended Thanks To The Generosity Of One Man

Richard Burns, New Lebanon Central High School Class of 1949, was dismayed a few years back at the low turnouts for the annual Alumni Reunion Dinners. In 2005 he said that of all those who had graduated over the years only 57 showed up for the Reunion. “You could hear an echo in the room,” he said. Something had to be done. Petersburgh Planning Board Asks For Right Of Way On Rabbit College Road Subdivision

The Petersburgh Planning Board met on Monday, July 27, to resolve a minor subdivision of a property on Rabbit College Road owned by Geraldine Smith. The lot in North Petersburgh is 62 and a half acres with a subdivision of one lot of 50.75 acres and the other of 11.75 acres to be made.

Project Linus Helps Seriously Ill Children

Last year the Hoosac Villagers, a crafts group that meets monthly from September to May, decided to make blankets for Project Linus.
Project Linus has hundreds of chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. They all work together to help provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need, through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
