Election Day Chili Take-Out

The Berlin Methodist Church will be holding its Annual Chili Take-Out. For $5 you can get chili, corn bread and a dessert. The Church will be selling the chili take-out on Tuesday, November 4, from 11 am until it is all gone. The Church is located on South Main Street, so when you go to vote be sure to stop by and buy lunch or dinner.

Berlin Fire Dept. Breakfast

On Sunday, November 2, from 7 to 11 am, the Berlin Fire Department will be holding its monthly breakfast. For your eating pleasure we will serve pancakes, sausage, toast, home fries and eggs (scrambled, sunny side, over easy or over hard). Beverage choices include coffee, tea, (both decaf available), hot chocolate, milk and orange juice. The price is $6 for adults, $3 for kids 5-12 and free for kids under 5. This, as all of our breakfasts are, is an all you can eat event so come on out before church, the grocery run or what you are doing for the day and have a great start to the morning. 

Don’t forget to bring your sweet tooth as the Ladies Auxiliary has some great baked goods for sale. Also to support another great group please bring your unwanted, returnable bottles that morning to put in the Cub Scout collection bin. There will also be a collection box for non-perishable items that will be given to the local food pantry.

American Legion Auxiliary Meeting

American Legion Unit #40 Auxiliary monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, November 6, at the Post Home at 150 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.  Refreshments and social time will begin at 6 pm and the meeting will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. 19th Annual Hancock Historical Commission Gathering

An election night spaghetti dinner sponsored by the Stephentown Elementary PTO will be served on November 4 from 5 to 7 pm at the Stephentown Fire Hall.

Tickets cost  $7 for adults,    $5 for Senior Citizens and      $4 for children 12 & under

Helvi’s Opens Upstairs For Parties

Bob Bingell Jr. and Sr. stand in the recently finished private dining room on the second floor of Helvi’s  Restaurant on Classic St. in Hoosick Falls. The upstairs was only a shell when they opened the restaurant. The room will accommodate 40 people. They had their first party in the new facility on Sunday. Bob Jr. said they are now taking reservations for Thanksgiving gatherings and Christmas parties. (Bea Peterson photo)
