Children from Grafton and surrounding towns filled the VFW Post this past Saturday for an Easter Egg Party hosted by the Grafton Youth Commission. Commission Director Noelle Goyer estimates about 70 youngsters and their parents dropped by to visit with the Easter Bunny, make Easter bonnets, color eggs, pet smaller bunnies, get their faces painted and more. In years past the event has been put on by the Grafton Lakes State Park at the Deerfield Pavilion, but this year it was moved indoors, with GLSP joining with many other area organizations to entertain and educate. The Taconic Valley Youth Basketball (TVYB) 5th grade girls team brought home the first trophy for TVYB on Monday night.

Internationally renowned musician Sean Gaskell will perform at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, April 8 at 6:30 pm. The program, which is free and open to the public, will feature works for the Kora, an ancient 21-stringed harp from West Africa. Gaskell will perform traditional songs that are the heart and soul of the Kora’s musical repertoire in addition to some of his own personal compositions.
