Segment Of Route 2 In Petersburgh To Close Friday Night Until Saturday Night

Motorists are advised that Route 2 in Petersburgh will be closed between its two intersections with East Hollow Road (County Route 91) from Friday at 8 pm until Saturday at 8 pm as part of an ongoing slope repair project. The closure covers approximately three-quarters of a mile of Route 2.

HAYC3 Sponsors A Follow-Up Town Hall Meeting About Heroin And Drug Abuse

On Thursday, June 5, at 7 pm, the HAYC3 Community Coalition will hold a second Town Hall Meeting at The HAYC3 Armory in Hoosick Falls regarding the recent rise in heroin, prescription drug and other substance abuse in our community and region. This meeting will feature doctors and other health care workers as well as social workers and will focus on prevention, treatment and resources and services available in our area. We encourage parents, youth, community members and leaders from Hoosick and the surrounding areas to attend.

New Lebanon High School Teacher Selected For NYS Master Teacher Program

New Lebanon High School math teacher Dolores Storey has been selected for the New York State Master Teacher Program. Storey, a Ravena resident, joins the 104 Master Teachers announced in October 2013, bringing the total number of Master Teachers in New York to 319, representative of every region in the State. The teachers went through an extensive application and interview process, took a content area test, submitted written essays and gave presentations.

An Alert Hoosick Falls Citizen Helps Nab Alleged Thief

According to Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe, on Thursday, May 22, the Police Department investigated a report of a Larceny of items that consisted of guard rails, pipe valves and assorted pipe from the fenced in Hoosick Falls Village Highway yard. Town Of Hoosick Planning Board Action – Quorum Call

At 7:30 on Monday, May 19, it was as quiet as a church in the room where the Town of Hoosick Planning Board was to meet. Several people were waiting to address the Board, but there was not a quorum. Daryl Cipperly, John Cooney and Chairman Jim Dunigan were present, as was attorney Denis King, Building Inspector Ed King and Secretary Karen Jennings. Finally, at 7:45, Bill Hanselman hobbled in on crutches. It took him a little longer to get there as he had injured his knee in the Lions Club Road Race on Saturday. Business began.

The Hoosac School Class of 2014 will be graduating on Saturday, June 7, at 11 am.  This fine group of students, comprised of young men and women from all over the world, will be the 125th class to graduate from the Hoosac School. David Stocks Will Speak On The Great Stone Barn Project At The Stephentown Historical Society

The Great Stone Barn at the Shaker community at Mount Lebanon was a wonder of its time. After a devastating fire in 1972, only its masonry walls still stand. David Stocks, President of the Shaker Museum | Mount Lebanon, will give an illustrated talk on “The Great Stone Barn Project: Past, Present, Future” to the Stephentown Historical Society on Monday, June 2, at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road (County Route 26), Stephentown. The program is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible.
