Everyone is invited to the Library’s next “Saunter in the Shire” on Wednesday, July 31, at 5 pm.  Meet at the Library and journey to the Petersburgh sculpture garden featured in the DVD “Peter’s People.”  If you want a sneak preview, the DVD is available at the Library for you to take home and view.
On Wednesday, July 31, at 6 pm everyone is invited to the opening reception for a new photography exhibit at the Library.  In June the Library sponsored a photography workshop for youth ages 10 to 16.  The photographs will be on display at the Library during the months of August and September.  This program was supported in part by Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Children’s Activities
On Tuesday, July 30, at 11 am Story Hour will feature stories on “I Dig Hidden Treasure.”  All pre-schoolers are invited to attend.  On Wednesday, July 31, our drop-in craft will feature painting and decorating a treasure box to take home.  All children are invited to join in this activity any time between 2 and 4 pm.
Don’t forget to keep reading this summer.  Children who have signed up for the summer reading program can log their books online or on forms provided.  They need to be turned in by August 12  so you have lots of time to read.  Teens and adults may enter a prize drawing for every book read.  There are 11 prizes for adults and 4 for teens.  Stop by the Library and pick up some entry slips, and keep reading!
