The Grafton Historical Society’s May meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on September 19 at 7 pm. The program is an overview of Granville Hicks (1901-1982) – his life and work.

Cabaret To Benefit The Stephentown Memorial Library
Berkshires-based cabaret performer Lisa Kantor will present “You Read Me Like a Book!” – an evening of love songs and love-gone-wrong songs at The Theater Barn in New Lebanon on Friday, September 28, to benefit the Stephentown Memorial Library. The unique fundraiser and musical program is organized by the Friends of the Library. Wine and light refreshments will be available at 7 pm, and the cabaret show follows at 8 pm. HFCS Golf Takes A Loss

After a run of wins, the Hoosick Falls golfers lost to Schuylerville on Wednesday, September 5, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club. The score was 0-5. The medalist was Carter Fritch from Schuylerville, who shot a 35.
The Panthers take on Hoosic Valley Thursday, after the first day of school, at the Battonkill Course.

Pre-Licensing Course At HFCS
The NYS 5 hour pre-licensing course, needed to obtain a valid NYS license, will be offered on Thursday, September 13, at the Hoosick Falls Central School. A valid learner’s permit and $35 correct cash or check is required. Registration is that evening, beginning at 4:30 pm in the High School Office, with class following promptly at 5 pm. She’s been shut out by a chain fence, watched her family mistreated, endured property damage and been betrayed by the modern members.
It was early summer in 1948 when Helen Ellett, an avid horsewoman had a vision. Many times she had thought about the joy of having a horse club, a club that consisted of great friends that shared horses and the joys of riding in common.

The Hoosick Irish Open
The Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade committee will host a half-way to St. Patrick’s Day event – the Hoosick Irish Open Crazy Pin Golf Scramble. The Scramble will take place on Saturday, September 22, with a 1 pm shotgun start. Each team will consist of four players. The fee is $50 per player.
Come and test your golf skills at some of the craziest pin placements. Golfers and non-golfers are welcome to attend and take a chance on great raffles. Come and enjoy the scenic views, music, bagpipes and food on the Hoosick Falls Country Club porch. Come take part in the fun.
