The War And Women
Take a trip back in time at the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site and discover what life was like for women during the Revolutionary War. The summer program titled “The War and Women” will be held on Sunday, August 5, at 2 pm and will take a look in to women’s lives during the Revolutionary War, including learning the language of the fan and a traditional craft. Come prepared for a hands-on experience to discover what life was like way back when.
This is an introductory class ideal for the whole family. There is a $2.00 program fee per person or $5 per family.

Habitat In A Jar At GLSP
Grafton Lakes State Park will host an educational program, “Habitat in a Jar,” at 2 pm on Sunday, August 4. Participants will learn about the habitat needs of various animals that call the Rensselaer Plateau home, explore nearby wetlands and build their own self-sustaining habitat to take home.
The program meets at the Park Office. Space is limited so please pre-register.

Wetland Ecology Hike
Saturday, August 4, at 10 am. Join us for a two mile hike at Cranberry Pond. The site includes a high-quality spruce swamp, hemlock and hardwood forest, a bog-like poor fen and plants and animals rare for Rensselaer County. Local ecologist Dr. David Hunt will explain the difference between a bog and a fen and guide us through the different habitats. Wear footwear you can get very wet if you go into the fen. HHOT Presents Mozart’s The Magic Flute
The Hubbard Hall Opera Theater (HHOT) will present Mozart’s family favorite, The Magic Flute, in six performances from August 8 to 19 on Hubbard Hall’s mainstage at 25 East Main Street in Cambridge, NY. Performances, fully costumed and staged with a 19-piece orchestra, will be sung in German with supertitles and spoken in English.

A Memorial Service For Irene B. Greene
Berlin – Irene Brownell Greene, 91, of Greene’s Brook Road, Berlin, NY, passed away on Friday, July 13, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 11 am in the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church on North Main Street in Berlin where Rev. Matthew Olson will officiate. A Time of Fellowship will follow the service.
