I would like to thank New Lebanon Fire Chief Bud Godfroy and the LVPA for assisting with the tragic accident that occurred at my home on March 24th. Oh wait…you didn’t. Had you responded, your snide comments to the injured parties about the accident being “interesting” or your comrades’ questioning my family if there was under-age drinking, would have been put to rest.

Valley Community Farmers Market Meeting
Our Valley Community Farmers Market (OVCFM) will hold its first meeting of the 2012 season on April 17 at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall of the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church (North Main Street). Anyone interested in knowing more about the market – especially those interested in vending – is encouraged to attend. The meeting will include a discussion of OVCFM’s Market Handbook and policies, answer questions about New York State and Rensselaer County regulations, move toward creating a Market Committee and review community involvement.

Panther Baseball Loses To Greenwich

Neither cold nor wind nor rain can stop an early spring baseball game. That was obvious on Wednesday, April 4, when Hoosick Falls played Greenwich at home. Square Dance At PVMCC
There will be a square dance at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center on April 14 from 7 to 9:30 pm. The callers are Ken Hollenbeck and Martha von Schilgen. The cost is $8 per person; those under 18 will be admitted for free. Be sure to come and kick up your heels!

4-H Teen Council Auction
The Rensselaer County 4-H Teen Council will host its annual Auction, Friday, April 27, at Brittonkill Elementary School, Route 2 in Brunswick. Doors open at 6:30 pm, bidding starts at 7 pm. Auction items will include new and used items, merchandise and gift certificates donated by Rensselaer County businesses and theme baskets designed and donated by 4-H Clubs throughout the County. Dinner and refreshments will be available.
