The Hoosick Falls boys basketball team took one step closer to a Class C Championship on Tuesday night, beating 4th seeded Lake George 55-41 in their sectional semi-final game at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The win sets up a title game clash with 3rd seed Mechanicville, who knocked off the 2nd seed, Greenwich, on Tuesday as well.

Molly Durnin To Perform In FCCLA Talent Show
Talent in Times Square is the theme for the 20th annual FCCLA Talent Show at Berlin High School. Performances this year will include recording artist and Berlin Alumna Molly Durnin, Alumnus Nuffer Muller demonstrating techno-computer music, student performers on piano and guitar including a local teen band and much more.
The show begins at 7 pm and proceeds send students to the NY State FCCLA Leadership Conference. Show time is 7 pm Saturday, March 3, at the Berlin High School.
Refreshments will be on sale. Admission is $5. The snow date is Sunday, March 4, at 3 pm.
Berlin And New Lebanon Alumni Night
On Friday night, March 2, New Lebanon and Berlin alumni will face off in games of volleyball and basketball. Volleyball will start at 5:30 pm to be followed by basketball at 7. Admission is $1 for students and senior citizens and $2 for adults. There will be a concession stand run by students from both schools.
Proceeds will benefit the Berlin class of 2012 and the New Lebanon class of 2013.
Petersburgh Library News
The Petersburgh Public Library book discussion group will be discussing The Help by Kathryn Stockett on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 pm. Everyone who has read the book is invited to join in the discussion. Refreshments will be served.

Spring Story Time At The Cheney Library
The Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls will begin Spring Story Times on March 13 at 10 am in the Library. The Story Times are for pre-school children and their caregivers. This Spring the theme will be “Dream Big, Read!” It is taken from the 2012 New York State Summer Library Program for Early Literacy and includes such great favorites as Papa, Please Get the Moon For Me by Eric Carle and Good Night, Gorilla by Peggy Rathman. We will be doing related crafts and, of course, there will be snack time. Be sure to come and welcome Spring with some great stories.
The Cheney Library is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 8 pm, Tuesday from 10 am to 5 pm, Friday from 11 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm.
Looking For Grafton CCC Camp Pictures
Grafton Town Historian Pat Niebuhr has been gathering information about the Civilian Conservation Corps in Grafton and needs additional pictures. If anyone has pictures of the CCC in Grafton that they would like to share, call Pat Niebuhr at 658-3737. She will be happy to make copies.

Haley Named To President’s List At SUNYIT
Alexander Haley of Stephentown has been named to the President’s List for the fall 2011 semester at SUNYIT. A semester grade point average of 3.60 or above qualifies full time, matriculated students for inclusion on the President’s List.
