The Petersburgh Veteran’s Memorial Community Center will be having a lasagna dinner to benefit Veteran’s Wall Memorial Fund on Friday, October 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This will also be an opportunity to meet the candidates running for local offices. No speeches!!! Tickets cost $10 a piece for adults. Kenneth H. Bink Sr.
Cherry Plain – Kenneth H. Bink Sr., 60, of Palm Bay, FL, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Williams Child’s Hospice Center after a brief illness. Born in Cherry Plain, NY. He was the son of the late Jacob H. and Doris Teal Bink.
Ken was a construction operator for many years, lastly employed with William Turnbaugh. He enjoyed his garden as well as following Jeff Gordon and the Washington Redskins.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Debbie Leonhardt of Palm Bay, his son, Kenneth H. Bink Jr. and wife Samantha of Stephentown, NY, his grandson, Gavin Bink of Stephentown, his stepson, A.J. Beecher, his siblings, Philip Bink, Joyce and husband Fred Moses, Elvia and husband David Corlew, Lillan and husband Lee Grandjean, Donna Bink and Carl, Lorraine Heath and Melissa Bink and Daniel, and his sister-in-law, June Bink, along with many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brothers, Wayne, Jake and Richard Bink. All funeral arrangements will be private.
BCS School Bus Involved In Accident
At approximately 3 pm on Friday, October 4, one of the Berlin Central School buses was involved in an accident on Route 22 just north of the Route 2 intersection. A water line broke in the American Legion Post 40 building on Main Street in Hoosick Falls recently. Members of the Legion found that water was spraying all over the basement, and the water was about 2 feet deep. A lot of property was soaking wet and in danger of being destroyed. Nothing Doing In New Lebanon Before Election Day

It must be election season in New Lebanon. The lawn signs appeared almost overnight like mushrooms with the last rain. Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the Town Board was the final one before election day, and very little happened, perhaps in anticipation of whatever political changes will soon befall the Town.

Panthers Quiet Warriors, 35 – 0

The Stillwater Warriors made a visit to the Panther Den last Friday evening. The 2 – 2 Warriors came in looking to upset the Panthers. The Warriors put up a good fight early in the contest, but the Panthers wore them down. Although the Panthers offense did not play their best game of the season, the defense stepped up and kept Stillwater from gaining any confidence throughout the game.

HF Field Hockey Stays Undefeated

On Friday the Greenwich Witches came to HFCS to battle the Panther field hockey team for first place in the WASAREN league. The Panthers beat the Witches 3 – 1 in their first meeting. Greenwich’s plan was to pull off a win and be in a first place tie with the Panthers.
It didn’t take long for the Panthers to dash any hope of that.
