Parisi Designs & Co., A Floral Framing & Gift Gallery now replaces the long time Upsy Daisy Flowers on 53 Church Street in Hoosick Falls. Owner Lorri Parisi has worked in the floral industry for 30 years and wanted to keep the florist open when she heard it was about to close. The new shop offers fresh and silk custom floral arrangements for all occasions including birthdays, anniversary, weddings, funerals and “Just Because” or to say “I Love You.”

ERC Warehouse Looking For New Location

The Eastern Rensselaer County (ERC) Community Warehouse located on Route 22 in Hoosick, just outside Hoosick Falls, is looking for a new location somewhere within the Villages and Towns of the ERC Solid Waste Management Authority. One requirement is that the new location be on a main thoroughfare, as it is now. Last week Warehouse director Matt Curley said the Warehouse, a not-for-profit, is not doing well at the moment. BCS Board Fails To Authorize Capital Project Financing

Although Berlin School District taxpayers voted in December to approve floating a bond of $5 million to fix up school buildings, when it came time for the School Board to actually authorize the financing, the votes were lacking. At their meeting on Tuesday the School Board voted 4-3 to authorize the bonding, but by State law a 2/3rds majority is required for such an authorization, so the resolution did not pass.
