The Hoosick Falls Lacrosse Club Starts Practice

The Hoosick Falls Lacrosse Club (HFLC) started practice last week. Practices are on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm at the Hoosac School fields. It was the first ever practice. These kids made history!
Registration is still open. We still have loads of equipment available. Scholarships are available and the Carknard Fund supports HFLC. No kids will be turned away. We are still actively registering kids from kindergarten through eighth grade. Both boys and girls are welcome to play. We are fully staffed with experienced coaches.

HFCS PTA April Family Movie Night
The Hoosick Falls Central School PTA announces its April family night film series co-sponsored with the Hoosick Federal Credit Union. Here is an opportunity for families to enjoy an outing free of charge.
The movie scheduled is Wall-E, described by film critic Roger Ebert as, “an enthralling animated film, a visual wonderment and a decent science-fiction story.” The film airs on Friday, April 19, at 6 pm in the High School Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 pm, and drinks, popcorn and pizza will be for sale in the Elementary School Cafeteria with the proceeds going to the Hoosick Falls PTA. This movie is rated G.
The event is open to the general public and school spirit items will be available for sale.
Jeremy Burns Goes To NCAA Wrestling Championships
The Springfield College wrestling team had six student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on March 2 and 3. Tommy Casper, Derek Adams, Joe Grippi, Derrick Longo, Devin Biscaha and Jeremy Burns all represent Springfield College on the national scene.

Texas Hold’em Tournament At The Armory
Shuffle Up and Deal! Join us at the Hoosick Falls Armory for the Texas Hold’em Tournament every first Friday of the month starting April 5.
The doors for the tournament will open at 6 pm, and play starts at 6:30 pm. The buy-in is $35 with an option for a $10 add on, plus a $5 high hand pot. Whether you are new to the game or not, come and have a great time at the Armory, 80 Church Street, Hoosick Falls.

AARP Defensive Driving Course In Hoosick Falls
The Hoosick Area Senior Center is offering an AARP defensive driving course on Wednesday, April 17, from 9 am to 3:30 pm. The cost is $17 for AARP members, $19 for non-members. Call 686-7561 to sign up in advance; seating is limited.
