Friends Of The Cheney Library Dinner

Friends of the Cheney Library invite you to Dine Out to Help Out. On December 7, between 5 and 8 pm the Hoosick Falls Diner will donate a portion of the night’s proceeds to expand programs and services offered by the Cheney Library to our community. There will be a 50/50 Raffle and Book Basket Raffles held during the evening. Special thanks is given to the Falls Diner for their generous offer. You will also have an opportunity to join the Friends of Cheney Library group. So please join us for an evening of fun and food that will benefit our community.

Local Thrift Store Open Two Extra Days In December

Local Girl Scouts will once again open the Thrift Store on the first Friday and Saturday of the month. The hours are Friday, December 2, from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday, December 3, from 9:30 am to noon. The shop is also open weekly on Thursdays from 10 am to 2 pm.

Man Of La Mancha At Capital Rep

The Capital Rep has opened a new production of Man of La Mancha starring Hoosick Falls native Kevin McGuire. The remarkably talented cast also includes David Sutton of Hoosick Falls as the Padre.
Man of La Mancha has been an audience favorite since it first opened in the late sixties in New York. It ran for over three years on Broadway and won many Tony Awards. The song at the center of it, “The Impossible Dream,” has been recorded by countless different singers over the last forty years, and is familiar to almost everyone.

Boy Scout Troop 65 Selling Holiday Wreaths

Boy Scouts will again sell wreaths this holiday season. The beautiful 14” Frasier fir wreaths sell for $12 plain, $14 with red or burgundy bow or $16 complete with decorations. Wreaths are delivered  to your home in Hoosick, Berlin, Bennington or Cambridge areas before Thanksgiving or can be  picked up at the First Baptist Church on Sunday, November 27, from 6 to 8pm.  Call Scoutmaster Larry Mango at 518-686-1796 to order.

Hoosick Falls Village Board Action – The Village To Consider Shared Services Or Dissolution

At the regular meeting of the Hoosick Falls Village Board on Tuesday, November 8, Mayor Matt Monahan announced that the Village has received a Local Government Efficiency Grant from New York State in the amount of $48,910. The Mayor explained that the Village must prepare a scope of work on a shared services plan with the Town or dissolution of the Village into the Town.
