Thanks For Help With The Flagpole

The flagpole in the St. Mary’s Cemetery has been repaired and put back up with the help of the Hoosick Falls Fire Dept. and  Walt Zwinge from American Legion Post 40. The American Legion Post 40 would like to send out a great big thank you to Chief Jonathan Coon and his men at the Fire Department.

Representatives from area Police Departments, Village officials and friends attended the party for newly retired Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Whalen on Friday, November 6, at the Hoosick Falls Fire House. November 5 was the Chief’s last day on the job and, after a week’s vacation time, he was officially retired from the Department.

There was standing room only at the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting on Tuesday evening, November 10. Dr. Raymond Hyde and his wife addressed the Board regarding properties they own at 43 and 71 Wilder Avenue. Dr. Hyde said they came up from Virginia to “straighten my name.
