Hoosick Falls To Form Water Panel

Hoosick Falls Mayor Matt Monahan announced at the monthly Village Board meeting on Tuesday, October 13, that a panel will be formed to resolve water metering and billing issues. The panel, he said, will be made up of Board members and residents of the Town and Village. Issues before the panel to be resolved include meter billing by August 2010 and adjustments to payments for Village water and sewer used by Town residents.

Annual Meeting Of Youth And Community Center Board

Trick Or Treat For UNICEF

On October 31 the Key Club from Hoosick Falls Central School will be Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF. The Key Club members will be going door to door with boxes asking for any change you can spare. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Danforth at 686-5586. Together we can make a difference!

Pilates Classes

Pilates classes have resumed at the Hoosick Youth and Community Center on Tuesday mornings. Instructor Donna Menneto offers two classes each Tuesday, one at 7:30 and one at 8:30 am. Classes are open to anyone of any age and any fitness level. The workout is low impact and will leave participants refreshed, centered and revitalized. There is a weekly fee to participate. For additional information, contact the Youth Center at 518-686-9050.

Hoosick Falls – Donald Myers, 65, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He resided at the Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington with his wife Patricia (Yerke) Myers who survives. They had formerly resided in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Robert Rice

Hoosick Falls – Robert (Bob) Rice, 73, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided on Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife Marguerite (Dooley) Rice, whom he married on June 13, 1959.

Hoosick Falls Gets $100k Renewable Energy Grant

The sludge holding tank at the Hoosick Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant freezes over in the winter. A more powerful mixer connected to solar panels will be installed to prevent this from happening anymore. Funds for the project were received through a Stimulus grant. (Bea Peterson photo)
