June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month
June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month and the Second Chance Animal Center, Route 7A, Shaftsbury, VT, invites the public to visit for an open house at the shelter on Saturday, June 6, from 11 am to 3 pm. It is a great way to kick off the month and to pay homage to our four-legged feline friends. Shelter tours will be held throughout the day and refreshments will be served. Join us for a Purrrfect afternoon.
Reduced adoption fees for cats will be in effect for the entire month of June. For additional information contact Tina at 802-375-2898.

The Walter A. Wood Reunion Is June 13
The Walter A. Wood High School, Hoosick Falls, Alumni Reunion will be held Saturday, June 13, at 12:30 pm at the Pittstown Rescue Squad Building on Parker School Road (off Route 7). St. Mary’s Book Drive
The second-graders at St. Mary’s Academy are holding a book drive to benefit BooksFirst, a nonprofit organization that distributes books to under resourced classrooms. The book drive starts on June 1 and runs through June 12.
The second-graders are accepting good condition picture books, children’s chapter books and any other age appropriate books (3-12 years).
If you would like to donate, please drop your books off at St. Mary’s Academy. Donations will also be accepted at the Funtastik Fair held at the school on June 12 and 13.

Timothy Clune, Chief of the Health Care Bureau of the Office of NYS Attorney General Andrew Cuomo assured everyone attending the ROUSE (Rensselaer Organization United for Senior Endeavors) meeting at the Hoosick Falls Senior Center on Wednesday, May 20, that when they called his office there would be no “touch tone torture.”
