Edward J. Gormley

Hoosick Falls – Edward J. “Ed” Gormley, 72, of Endicott, NY, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on February 11, 2009, with his loving wife Joanne at his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 27, 1937, Ed was the son of the late Edward J. Gormley Sr. and Muriel Grace (Keppler) Gormley.

Mayor Laura Reynolds Will Not Seek Re-Election

At the Tuesday regular meeting of the Hoosick Falls Village Board Mayor Laura Reynolds announced the candidates for the March election. All them are members of the Progressive Party and will be running unopposed as the Taxpayer Party did not put up a slate of candidates this year. Matthew Monahan is the candidate for Mayor.

In Striving For No Tax Levy Increase HFCS Must Reduce Employees

The Hoosick Falls Central School Board of Education meeting had a much larger than usual audience this week because a first look at next year’s budget was on the agenda, and Superintendent Ken Facin has already said that the District is going to have to cut down the number of people it employs.

Si And Vivian Close Celebrated Their 60th Wedding Anniversary

They met at the Owl Garage in Hoosick Falls when Si started working there with Vivian’s brother Elmer. “They said it would never last,” Vivian said, “because we were both on the rebound, but here we are 60 years later!”
